Cowles Mountain, the “jewel” of San Carlos is one of San Diego’s most popular hiking destinations. Cowles trail is 3 miles long and offers a number of activities year round. San Carlos is neighborhood in the eastern area of San Diego and borders Del Cerro, Tierrasanta, Allied Gardens and Fletcher Hills. Many homes in this area were built in the 60’s and 70’s featuring the popular Ranch style single story homes.
